About me
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and accredited with UKCP and BACP. I have over 24 years of experience in clinical practice and also offer clinical supervision to psychotherapists.
I’m qualified to work with both individuals and couples. I offer psychotherapy in a safe and confidential environment, providing non-judgemental support to help clients explore the concerns which have led them to seek help. I have worked with a wide range of issues and with clients from all walks of life. I have a warm and empathic approach which allows clients the opportunity to explore their concerns freely and in depth.
I worked for many years in an NHS psychotherapy department in East London. Following that I became the manager of a counselling service in a large GP practice in South London. I have been the lead therapist for several mental health charities, have worked at The Priory Hospital, the Tavistock Relationships Clinic and in private practice.
I have qualifications in both integrative and psychodynamic psychotherapy and combine the two approaches in my work. Sometimes our early experiences can have a powerful effect on shaping our view of the world as we develop and become adults. We can feel trapped by long held beliefs which may be unhelpful and lead to negative and repetitive feelings and behaviours. We can also be affected by current situations, events and relationships. Considering past experiences alongside present problems often helps to bring into focus how difficulties have arisen. Reflecting on these issues can help to re-assess the present and approach the future in a more optimistic manner.
I have extensive experience in working with LGBTQI+ clients and understand how the unique pressures which are often experienced can place individuals and relationships under enormous stress.
I also have many years of experience working with people in the entertainment industry and in high profile positions. This work has ranged from stress management to addiction issues and the problems associated with living under public scrutiny.
Psychotherapy isn't just about seeking help in a crisis. If you frequently experience problems which have an impact on how you function day to day, please get in touch.
